We are the Church Conferences

For nearly 15 years lay ecclesial ministers, religious, deacons and priests, as well as many who serve the people of God in other ways, have attended The Winter Conference in March, the Castelot Summer Scripture in late June and the F. Gerald Martin Pastoral Ministry Conference in early August.

All three conferences were created in collaboration with people serving in ministry in the Archdiocese of Detroit with the goal of providing presentations and interaction on pertinent scriptural foci, along with spiritual, pastoral and theological concerns. Our presenters have offered deeply researched and spiritually awakening exegesis of Sacred Scripture as well as meaningful and applicable understandings of pastoral approaches to current concerns and trends within the Church and the world. These presenters have included a wide variety of nationally acclaimed and locally regarded Scripture scholars, theologians and pastoral leaders including Timothy Radcliffe, Jack Shea, Ron Rolheiser, Dianne Bergant, Robert P. Moore , Dennis Sugrue, Gina Hens-Piazza, Warren Carter, Barbara Reid, Patricia Cooney-Hathaway, Jan Michael Joncas, Monika Hellwig, Richard Cassidy, Jack Castelot, Barbara Green, Lawrence Boadt, John Donahue, Daniel Harrington, Megan McKenna, David Neuhaus, Tom Beaudoin, Timothy Hogan and C. Vanessa White.

In recognition of the enduring demand, "We Are the Church Conferences" continues to provide these same three conferences and the education and encouragement they deliver to hundreds of the faithful in their pursuit of excellence in ministry.

Ministerial colleagues and friends joined in prayer, conversation and study, and then went forward together into the province of truths and challenges in their ministry and service to the People of God.
