The Winter Gathering

Since 1999, the “Winter Gathering” has been planned and offered to provide theological updating, ministerial skill-building and networking among those interested in deepening their faith, leadership and connecting with others within the wider Church.

This year, We Are the Church Conferences is pleased to host Dr. Mark Miller CSsR , Moral Theologian and Bioethicist at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church Wednesday, March 07, 2012 8:45am- 1:00pm. Fr. Miller returns to Michigan this winter after his tour de’ force last August at the F. Gerald Martin Pastoral Ministry Conference in Sterling Heights. He comes to share his insights into how we can make better moral decisions in a world that challenges us with conflicting information, and all too often, no clear answers.

Born in Edmonton Canada, Fr. Mark completed his Doctorate in Moral Theology at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Fr. Mark has experience as a clinical bioethicist, teacher, presenter and author of books and numerous articles on Bioethics. He is currently the Provincial of the English speaking Redemptorists of Canada while continuing his clinical ethics work part-time at the Center for Clinical Ethics at St. Joseph’s and St. Michael’s Hospitals in Toronto.

Dr. Mark Miller

A native Westerner, born in Edmonton, Dr. Mark Miller studied in Winnipeg, Toronto and Germany before completing his doctorate in moral theology (1992) at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. After receiving his doctorate, Fr. Mark spent 16 years as a clinical bioethicist working at and out of St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He has taught and provided workshops at Catholic Colleges, in adult formation programs, for Catholic teachers, and many health care practitioners. He is now the provincial of the English-speaking Redemptorists of Canada. He continues his clinical ethics work part-time at the Centre for Clinical Ethics at St. Joseph's and St. Michael's Hospitals in Toronto. Dr. Miller is the author of books and numerous articles on Bioethics.
